4 TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR GUESTS FEEL LIKE LOCALS

Unlike resort destination weddings where activities are usually self-contained, a city wedding is one big “shiny thing” temptation after another. So, we say why not help focus your guests’ time (when not celebrating you, of course) and showcase your version of your city, by following some of these fun recommendations.

CAMP COUNSELORS

Recruit some of your local pals to be in charge of a group of your guests. No doubt, people will have questions and needs come up over the course of the day or weekend. And, let us tell you, these questions should not come anywhere near you or even your wedding planner. You’ve all got better things to do! And, for those counselors and those needing the counseling, this is a great opportunity for people to get to know each other.

THE DO RUN-RUN

Print up a map of your favorite running route(s) so that the fit among your guests can take in the city from your eyes and running shoes. Take it one step further and reserve space at your favorite exercise classes, which your guests can book on your wedding site.

FULLY COMMITTED

Unless you’ve planned 24/7 of your guests’ time, consider holding reservations for groups at some of your favorite local restaurants. This is a great way for friends to get to know off-the-beaten-path parts of your city, not to mention dish on some of your favorite dishes.

FUN BUS

Make it easy on all your guests and provide transport to and from the main events. Even with Uber, even if the venues are relatively near to the hotels, even if people have their own cars, give the stilettoe’d and the tardy a lift and hand to make sure everyone makes it to the church on time.
